ABC WDNESDAY- D IS FOR DUSK OVER RAMSEY HARBOUR BRIDGE

DUSK BY BABOOSHKA

RAMSEY HARBOUR BRIDGE - IN 7TH HEAVEN

My choice for the letter D this week is simply Dusk. I'm also using this image as part of my other challenge some of you are aware of. Simply to photograph one item, a 100 different ways. This then is number 7 in the series. It 's the Top of Ramsey Swing Bridge again, photographed at dusk. It does look like a scene out of Hitchcock's The Birds doesn't it. The birds are optional in the challenge and not compulsory. Just as well as they aren't stationary objects . The girders and metal framework are as you've seen in previous shots cream and red, but obviously at dusk colours change and shadows cast. Gives the metalwork the darker hues.

I've just noticed the diamond shapes in the framework so an extra D then.

Can I again state my images do not have things super imposed on them, or manipulated, unless otherwise stated, ie cropped or re szied for the blog. They are also copyrighted. If you want to use them ask or pay. As you can see really not in the best frame( no pun intended) of mind tonight. Jolly bloggy will be back another day.

Want to join ABC got the lovely hostess with the mostest, MRS NESBITT'S PLACE

  2. Hi Babooshka - been away on hols and back now. I hope you have not been getting more grief...?
I have grief too for something I wrote. It makes you not want to bother sometimes (and then yes I WILL bother why shouldn't I?) but it makes me nervous about what I write now in case someone (who lives near) takes offence and it gets more nasty than it is.

Enough of me. I am not in the best frame too. So I suggest we get a large bottle of wine and drown our sorrows whilst putting the world to rights and discussing what a fabulous shot you took which extremely intriguing and satisfying with its diamond for the D as well as dusk!

(No I have not been drinking. Yet.)
    ;0)
Chin up girl. I love your stuff anyway.

  4. The details on that bridge is truly awesome. Now why didn't I think of dusk? Hmmmm. =)

HERE is where I posted my "D" picture. Hope you'll hop by as well. Thanks!

  5. Inspirational. Hey those birds are kind of American Gothic. Brad Jnr wants to be a photographer. He wants to pay with the animals you capture.

  6. Jolly blogger -- she comes and goes at my house too. I love the idea of 100 ways of looking at an object. I suppose could work for a live subject as well. This is a wonderful photo.

  7. I like the simplicity of this shot, although getting it probably wasn't simple. I mean the lines and colours are bold and striking! Nicely done.

  10. Well, I wish whoever is messing with you would just grow up and leave you alone!

    Now.

Your ABC Wednesday photo and your thoughts on it are brilliant.

I like that 100 ways idea, too. I just might have something similar in mind myself, not exact, but similar. It bears mulling around in my brain for a bit.

  13. This is a gorgeous photo - bravo!

I know I said on your picture a couple of days ago about thinking the sign had been superimposed, but I meant it as a comment on the unusualness of the sign rather than as any kind of attempt to cast aspersions on your photography. But I'm sorry that I offended :( Must be clearer about what I write in future.

  24. Impressed by both effort and result. I am all for taking the same subject under all possible conditions, but I will not limit my toolbox to a certain time and age without a very good cause

(Trying camera obscura springs to mind)

  25. I love your dusk shot and the arches below, too. Just beautiful!!

  29. beautiful image. I love all of the lines. Are people still accusing you of altering your images? Don't they just know that you are a talented photographer who needs no alterations. I always enjoy seeing what you have to show. You do a wonderful job.

  30. I must have at least 100 different photos of this bridge but none as good as this. I just love it.Hope you're feeling better now...

  31. Jackie - No, it wasn't you, it was the idiots who just keep emailing and leaving really obnoxious comments. Deluded envious fools I know, but some days, it's just a little too much.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ah. I'm sure their mothers love them.

  33. I am from the island. I really enjoy your blog and would like to bring back the birch to the upstarts on the island like the idiots mentioned. Please continue. As as Manxie from Onchan I seldom see Ramsey, but you have enticed me to meander that way this summer.

  34. Very nice light. . . I do like bridges. . . .

  35. Welcome to number 7, which is a lucky number (my lucky number!). Thank you for visiting my blog, Babooshka.

  36. you could easily fall in love with a bridge like this one under a sky like yours

    ReplyDelete
  37. I like the tones and colours in this one.

Ignore what the idiots say, you don't have to justify yourself to them or us. I sometimes crop, enhance colours etc. It makes my photos more interesting. I'm not saying yours aren't interesting! Keep on doing what you do :)

  38. Excellent blue sky! I really like this shot! I have misse your blog while I was away!

  39. Thank you for stopping in.

We don't have any swinging bridge and the only ones I've seen is the ones that are just for foot traffic.

Remember the coffee is always on.

  40. The black against the sky is beautiful....and the black and white images below are gorgeous!

  43. What a fantastic photo! I enlarged it so I could enjoy all the delightful detail and design. I love that the little birds add to the overall interest of the silhouetting against the dusky blue sky.
