SKYWATCH FRIDAY- MOORAGH PARK,RAMSEY

This is Mooragh Lake within Mooragh Park, Ramsey. Almost a sunny day. Well it was a least trying to break through. Mooragh Park is another of my favourites Ramsey haunts. I've even had a go canoeing on that lake, and swam in it. That is to say, I capsized and had to swim fully clothed, and hoist myself back into the canoe. Now I know I'm little, but I couldn't stand up in that lake so getting back in the canoe was fun. It's not very elegant I can assure you! As for swimming underwater in a park lake, I wouldn't recommend it. Couldn't see a thing. Half expecting a Jaws moment to happen, a decapitated head to fall out of a long lost boat down there. Believe me I would rather swim The English Channel than swim in that lake again.

Well the flags are out, which means Ramsey Week is definitely on it's way. The belly dancers are concerning me. Lots of male volunteers, but no females found. It is the Isle of Man Afterall.

By the way, those cartoons of Barker's that were all over my floor, stopping me hoovering. Guess what, two of them will be featured on the Berlin Undergound afterall.

If you want to particpate in skywatch see Jane & Tom at WIGGERS WORLD.
Only genuine skywatchers need apply. None of your advertising for sales sites please. This is for enthusiasts only and hosted by Jane & Tom of the fabulous WIGGERS WORLD

A final world. Let' show our support for Tom and Jane and make this an excellent skywatch. It's not a competition. It's a simple premise. It's the one thing we can all share in, the sky. Look up, point, shoot, upload, post, er that's it. You don't have to visit everyone, it's not about who has the most comments, links, ratings. It's just fun. So to the phanton emailer, to Wiggers World BLOG OFF!

  1. I think this is going to be the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on.

I really admire your photography skills and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.

  21. It is well known that we Portuguese once sailed the seven seas searching for new lands, wealth and adventures.
We were brave in those days and gave the world new worlds!

Luckily I don’t have to sail the big oceans on a small ship to sea the wonders of our world …
No Sir, I just need to check with Mr. Tom, the finest host there is, for a trip around the world with SKY WATCH TOURS and with a click here, a click there I am quickly in the USA, England, Brazil, Italy, China, Australia, Finland … well, everywhere.

And on each stop I come to see a little marvel of our world under a great sky!
Hope you can come and see my piece of the sky at lenses & visions

  25. Hi! I'm back from vacation and trying desperately to catch up on blog visits. Love your sky and swans in particular.

Very soon, perhaps by the end of next week, I will be posting some photos of our Greek vacation, during which we were accompanied by a small Serbian traveler (mystery man...) who helped us see Greece through his eyes... Stay tuned...drop in.

    Lovely image for SWF, Babooshka!

  52. I swim in our lake all the time...but the "un-scheduled" dips are not as much fun! There was this one time...oh I digress. Great shot, as usual! Thanks for your visits to not one, but all THREE of my blogs! Your comments about my nephew's work are very much appreciated and passed on to him!

  53. I love the dark and light of the clouds. You caught that water sparkling; sounds like it's best to admire the water from a distance. If sky watch wasn't fun, believe me, I'd be running away as fast as I could go. I admire your words of support for Tom & SWF.

Love your photo. That sky is so bright, the lake is so silver-grey, and the land is like a dark frame. It's beautiful.

  58. The clouds have such depth when the polarised light is removed. I can examine your image for ages: the light of the sky and the dark of the lake. I loved your yarn about capsizing the canoe. Good to know other people are height-challenged, too.

  59. Beautiful sky indeed! ALways make me dream to go away. Thanks for visiting The Hague Daily.

  61. Good moody shots. It looks just the place that Nessie would swim to for a holiday.

Thanks for the comment re my juggler. As for the photo itself; just luck I suppose.

I'm constantly amazed at how many comments you get. You must have a lot of friends out in Bloggerland.

  62. Beautiful sky. The photo of the siskind down below is wonderful!

  63. That seems a lovely place, and your photo does it justice. I liked your story; it must have been a bit frightening to capsize and struggle to get back in the canoe. You're braver than I. Thanks for sharing this with us on Sky Watch.

  64. So funny. Nice photograph of the lake.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  68. Bobooshka that is a stunning sky shot. Those involuntary swims, when one is out on a lake for gentle paddle are not my idea of fun either, especially if the water is cold.

    ReplyDelete
  69. That looks lovely. Just where I'd like to be now!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Good photo and fantastisc conclusion :)

    ReplyDelete

  75. Great shot... as usual! I love the mountains.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I can identify with the dislike (fear) of unknown and murky waters. I love swimming, and lots of water activities, but an unexpected brush with seaweed will send a shiver of panic down my spine. Other than that, the up-side of a canoe is a very nice place to be, isn't it?

Your photo looks so tranquil... perfect place for a great white to lurk below, I'd say. ;-)
