The Christian Motorcyclist Association UK were as it turned out, not selling but giving away books. Well just one book, the Biker Bible. Now I won't go into details, as it's not my thing, but here's the wiki link if you want to know more about the very friendly bunch of bikers for yourselves. One thing it does prove though, people are like books and you really shouldn't judge either by their cover.
As for the photo it's done exactly the same as the Tynwald shot. Desaturate almost all the colours apart from the blue, then pump up the saturate on the blue hues left in the pic.
Want to join Odd Shots Monday?
Then see KATNEY
I like how you just highlighted the blue in this photograph. really makes it pop.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful blog! The sleepy little siskin looks so sweet. I'm glad he recovered to fly another day.
ReplyDeleteBiker Bible. Does Noah refer to his wife as the Old Lady, perhaps?
How did you isolate those colours Babooshka? I like the cameraderie bikers often show among themselves ...
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know how you've done the colouring. I must try that one of these days.
ReplyDeleteGreat colouring Babooshka!
ReplyDeleteour photo blog is Updated,Let me know your opinion!
Simply "wow"..........
ReplyDeleteTrès interesant!, Babooshka!
ReplyDeleteUnlikely juxtaposition: bikers and the bible!
"Louis" says (and he isn't being his usual smart aleck self here) "God bless them!"
you mention a wiki link in your post - where is it???
ReplyDeleteWell this is the first for me...Bikers and Bibles, nice blue color, and glad that bird was able to fly off.
ReplyDeleteThe blue looks great among the shades of gray.
ReplyDeletej'aime cette bichromie, c'est une bonne idée de faire ressortir que le bleu. bravo
ReplyDeleteI love this two-colour, it's a good idea to bring out the blue. Bravo
Great shot, love the story behind it.
ReplyDeleteIf you click the word wiki, that's the link.
ReplyDeleteOdd enough for me, B.
ReplyDeleteYou have made a 'bread and butter' pic interesting. Nice.
Like the shot - and an interesting post too.
ReplyDeleteBikers and Bibles..... well there's nothing new about this at all,
ReplyDeleteMoses rode an old British motorcycle, as evidenced by a Bible passage declaring that "the roar of Moses' Triumph is heard in the hills."
and lets not forget that Joshua rode another Triumph with a hole in its muffler: "Joshua's Triumph was heard throughout the land."
Bible and Bikers :O)
oooh and my favorite leggy symbol to boot!
ReplyDeleteI love the shot of the bike and enjoyed the fact that you highlighted it in BLUE.. that's awesome... great post.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by today. I appreciated it.
Nice «Odd» Shot!!! LOLL!!!
ReplyDeleteVery good and I agree about judging a book by its cover...
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I think the blue adds just the right touch! Great subject too! Two things you normally wouldn't asociate if you didn't take the time to look past the surface. A great reminder to us all to dig more deeply.
ReplyDeleteThe Christian Bikers have an incredible elaborate cross on the back of their leather jackets. It is a very odd sensation coming up behind a group of them I can tell you!
ReplyDeleteI saw your name (Babooshka) on a blog I was reading and just had to check out your blogs since Babushka was my knickname in college.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos.
Barbara
I'm always glad to see fellow Christians spreading his word! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting and brilliant to play with the colours on the photo.
ReplyDeleteIt is rather odd I must admit as at first you wouldn't put the two together that's why we should never judge a book by its cover. Great how you've brought the blue up like you did the red the other day. Something I've wanted to try and I followed your instructions from your previous post but got no where at all....Doh
ReplyDeletevery nice picture! i love the colours. wow, how generous of them to be giving away free books! and you are right, you can't be judging people by their looks!
ReplyDeleteGreat post~and thanks for the shot info...must try it!
ReplyDeletebeautiful piece of work!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. I like the photo. Thanks for telling us how you did it!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I might LIKE the Biker's Bible better than the King James Ver. or the Jerusalem Bible... :)
ReplyDeleteWe have a christian Motorcyclist Association here also, not H.. Angels but Holy Riders. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat capture - work for odd shots.
Great shot and odd but interesting.
ReplyDeletePop and see mine
Love the highlighted color..have to learn how to do these things...
ReplyDeleteThat will do it! It has been a crazy weekend. But I am back. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteYou're right- you never know what you'll find! great shot!
ReplyDeletePeople are endlessly fascinating...who would have thought: bikers and bibles. Great find. Thanks for visiting my blog, too!!
ReplyDeleteOh boy... That reminds me of an episode of Six Feet Under where a biker's wife came to the Fisher brothers to organize his funerals. It was pretty funny - although I realize this is completely pointless if you are not familiar with this series.
ReplyDeleteOdd and unique service!
ReplyDeleteWow, I like this even more than the red. The guy's jeans in the background is a lovely powder blue.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a lovely biker group!
I've never heard of a Biker Bible. How interesting is that?!?!
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo. Great story, too!
ReplyDeleteI heard a joke that said Moses rode an old British motorcycle, as evidenced by a Bible passage declaring, “the roar of Moses' Triumph is heard in the hills.”
ReplyDeleteI don't know which version or chapter and verse, but it's kinda funny anyway.
Cool! Would like to ride one of those.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your visits to Norwich Daily Photo. I hope that you enjoy the colours of summer on my blog.
joy
Cool shot. I just discovered filters on the camera and how to draw colours out. It has some great effects.
ReplyDeleteIlike your line "people are like books and you really shouldn't judge either by their cover." Speaks volumes as we a were different faces throughout our daily routine. Perhaps it is here were we find our real selves.
ReplyDeleteI am still searching for the best way to create black and white images. Thank you for this tip of desaturating rather than PS simple black and white conversion.
The blue really works well and the whole makes for an interesting photo. I'm away now to give it a try...
ReplyDeleteYou come up with some quirky photos...do you carry your camera all the time?
Good for people to know.
