It's an older image, as I haven't got time to upload any of the ones I primarily wanted to use tonight. Friday already and I have so many images that could be used, but I'm still wading through motorbike images for magazines. Sometimes it's just that much easier if you only take a handful of images. Less to choose from, decisions made for you.
I'm going to be doing a little mini series when I can about Ramsey and it's viking links, hopefully next week in between neme days. I always say how the Norse language and ancestors are one of the groups of people that have help shape the island so perhaps rather than allude to it I should post it. I will also be continuing the rubbish theme, so Ramsey residents take note. I'm watching where you throw your litter.

That's a work of art - lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the purple, but I know you do, too. Great shot!!! I have the similar tree, remember?
ReplyDeleteC'est magnifique!
ReplyDelete"Louis" looks forward to you Viking series. With "Louis's" mother's family having originated in Normandie, he's keen to know a bit more about the Norse.
ReplyDelete"Louis" dedicated his Sky Watch, a dance between the moon and the fog at midnight to you, Babooshka.
What "Louis" wishes he could have captured in his image of the dance between the moon and the fog at midnight is that the wind was making the fog swirl very fast. The still shot just doesn't capture the motion. The swirling fog around the sodium vapor lights really made it look like a fire. It was a fantastic scene that "Louis" couldn't adequately capture.
ReplyDeleteVery good title for a different colored sky watch.
ReplyDeleteThis just plain rocks. I love it. The color is awesome and the light is intense.
ReplyDeleteThis is so great! I love the purple color.

ReplyDeleteI love purple, thank you.
ReplyDeleteYes that was very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm extremely jealous Babooshka! I can only just take photos that get the top of people's heads in. I can't even begin to get 10% close to what you can get from a camera.
It's such a terrific shot, glad you've given it a airing here too.
ReplyDeleteWill look forward to the viking series.
Re your earlier posted question, do I print my photo's? Sadly, I haven't even got any oth them backec up! Slapped wrists, I know.

Photo novice here...how in the world? This is gorgeous! Purple haze....
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. I love the color and the tree is perfect!
ReplyDeletePurple shot?! Never seen a purple sky like this before. Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.
ReplyDeleteIs Manx a viking or gaelic language or a hybrid of the two. The place names along the western seabaord of Scotland are all gaelic but the many of the people must have been Norse. In addition all these lands were only ceded to Scotland from Norway in the 14th century so it seems strange that only Orkney and Shetland have a majority of norse names. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! I like the sun coming through the trees.
ReplyDeletevery beautiful colors, excellent.
ReplyDeleteI could never take a photo as pretty. Mine are always fuzzy or bits missing.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the artwork of Cry Of Love by Jimi Hendrix. Check it out, it´s groovy. Maybe you know it already because you live in purple haze, flower child.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite scenes, sun, (or moon) through a leafless tree. Beautiful, now I got Jimi Hendrix tune in my head.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliments. I'm still a amatuer in this feild with much to learn. I do some minimal post processing in Photoshop Elements 5.0. Mainly to sharpen the image and maybe to bring out a color I want to emphasize. I have learned too much saturation is a dreadful thing to do.
I would greatly appriciate any critiques you deem fit on my photos.
Beauty!
ReplyDeleteEditing is such fun after a major shoot. I feel for you :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and lovely color!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
The picture reminded me of the B & G graphics of the 70s. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI'll look forward to the post(s) about the Norse influence! Give me a kick if I miss out!
PS Well put about the advertiser freaks!
Really nice... and different.

ReplyDeleteHendrix sprinkled his magic on this photograph. The best interpretation of "Purple Haze" I have seen. May I purchase this in 8" x 10"? unframed?
ReplyDeleteI have emailed my details and await your reply.
I saw your title of "purple Haze" and I thought of acid called purple haze.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful summer and thanks for stopping in.

ReplyDeleteGlad you experimented with the settings to get the color. Definitely striking! A few months ago, looking at interesting international stamps, I looked up info on Isle of Man and found it facinating. I'm also looking forward to your Viking mini series.
ReplyDeleteThe purple color is really strange. The tree's "skeleton" against the purple sky makes it unreal !
