ODD SHOTS MONDAY- BIRDCAT

This is why the bird table is going to be replaced with feeding poles! How cheeky can you get? This is not one of my better photos. The colours too bright, the contrast is wrong, the horizontal crooked. I could go on. It's just one of those point and shoot efforts, more for the subject, rather than the composition. It's the first cat I've had on my soon to be dumped bird table, which to me qualifies it to be odd.

Any cat owners out there ? Do you own a act born wih no tail or have you heard of such a creature? They are called "Manx" cats and originate from here where I reside, the Isle Of Man. Another odd shot if I spy one, but not on my bird table.

  1. Hello Babooshka. You see a picture which may be technically imperfect. I see a very interesting and unusual picture. So, is this a Manx cat, or does it just have its tail tucked away?

  7. Is this cat smart or just lazy? One of my favorite sayings is "Work smarter, not harder" I think this cat's got it both ways! I've never had a Manx but have seen many...thanks for the information.

  8. I wonder if the cat just likes the perch, or of he had some strange idea that a bird might not see him there, and fly up there?
silly idea. I'm sure he just liked the spot he chose. It's a fun picture.

  10. Now isn´t this a nice and funny photo?
Does that cat think he is a bird?
Or is it a bird disguised as a cat?

  17. I like this picture! He's just waiting!

As a matter of fact, I do yave a Manx. We rescued him, so don't know about any bloodlines, but he is typical of one. He has longer back legs, no tail, at times he hops across the yard.

If you'd like, I'll post a picture of him.

  18. I like the composition--the horizontals interrupted by that bold brazen personna there. And di he think that they would come to him if he waited long enough? No bird is that stupid.

  20. Hey kitty! That ain't gonna work! That's a riot. I wonder if she truly thinks if she waits long enough that something will drop in! I love the colors by the way.

  21. That is a great shot. LOL. I like it. My friend in college had a Manx name Max. He put a little fear in me when he came round for petting --- he was super muscular!

  22. Seems the cat prefers the penthouse apartment with a view. :)

  23. "Louis la Vache" has no doubt that vôtre Manx, sitting in his Penthouse, a mangé the robin in the previous photo. C'est vrai, n'est-ce pas?

  24. I love this one! Nice catch. I hope the birds can catch him before he does!

  25. I think that's called the "catbird seat". Obviously waiting for dinner to be served "on the wing". Clever fellow -:) Definitely an odd shot!
