When I did my previous post about the pier work had just got underway to secure and make it a least safe before it fell itno the sea. The work is still continuing, albeit intermittently. Rumours, suggestions and options are still being considered as to renovate or demolish. As I've said before I do hope it's the former. The approach to Ramsey, from Douglas, just wouldn't be the same without it.

Highly interesting - first time I have heard of a pier with its own tramway!
ReplyDeleteSeems fitting to preserve it - good luck with the work!
Very good Q photo!!
ReplyDeletewonderful shot. very interesting infos too
ReplyDeleteThis is just wonderful! Very nice Q-shot and your text is very informative! Very good work!
ReplyDeleteThe photo presented a question and the text provided the answer. Very interesting historic account. A nice 'Q' presentation.
ReplyDeleteIt would be sad to see such a landmark torn down. Great Q.
ReplyDeleteExcellent 'Q' choice and fascinating history
ReplyDeleteIt is a disgrace that they have let the pier go. The low angle is so cool. Hope this does the trick. Lol.
ReplyDeletehow i would like to live nearby. :(
ReplyDeleteThat was interesting. Very good Q post.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't Blackpool Pier have a train?
ReplyDeleteIt's another well put together post. The composition draws the eye along the pier right into the photograph.
Love your excellent work hun
Jacquixx
I sure hope they are able to restore it. Lovely photo.....and yes, it is a small world isn't it?!!!
ReplyDeleteWe will have to have a ride on the tram!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get the pier saved - the pier at Southport was very well renovated and it does have a tramway - not sure if any of the Blackpool piers do.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely worth preserving, by all means!!! Fantastic post.
ReplyDeleteNot only a good choice, an excellent picture.
ReplyDeleteImpressive pier with interesting info. Lovely photo.
ReplyDelete"Louis" hopes this historic structure will be saved! You've made a perfect choice for "Q" Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteCan you provide us with contact information so we may encourage the restoration and preservation of the structure?
great shot
ReplyDeleteWill you visit mine Thanks
Lovely photo. We have a pier in Mumbles that is in a similar state of disrepair. It would be horrid to lose it. I hope your pier survives too!
ReplyDeleteInteresting history. I hope your pier is preserved - a great photo too.
ReplyDeleteGreat and stormy looking Q post.. beautiful sky as well as the bridge.. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteil est vrai que la lettre "Q" n'est pas facile a faire, bon choix et une atmosphère de fin du monde dans ta photo.
ReplyDeleteit is true that the letter "Q" is not easy to do right choice and an atmosphere of end of the world in your photo.
The pier looks lovely in youir photo and I liked knowing a little more about it's story.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of a pier with a tramway, so I guess there's one more reason to preserve it.
Another nobel Queen--a perfect Q. I hope for preservation, as I would like to visit it.
ReplyDeleteI love all the information I can learn through these photo blogs. Nice Q post.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo, not so lovely story about it, hope it gets fixed...surely is a treasure in Ramsey!
ReplyDeleteOur pier is made of stone - I prefer the stone ones, they're not so disturbing (I live by the sea, yet I have a fear of it. Weird no?)
ReplyDeletelol, the picture's great. Keep snapping, love!

A great pier like this should be saved, great shot.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a shame to lose such a piece of history and beautiful structure. I love the angle and composition you used in your shot.
ReplyDeleteI chose to use nearby Quadra Island for Q. It is a fun vacation destination that you can see by clicking here. – Margy
Q or not, this is a stunning photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful and worthwhile Q post. After all the years I have lived here, I have never been to Man. It's time I did. Hubby is from Fleetwood anyway and will have memories from years ago about sailing to Man - it's time we got off our butts and saw where we lived!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting mine and a lovely Q post.
Great shot and informative Q post!
ReplyDeleteAnother day, another great picture! :-D
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks so much for posting on my guestbook. I really appreciate it :-D
A choice contribution to today's Q day...enjoyed the little bit of history! Have a great week! :D
ReplyDeleteI hope they can save it and make it safe....
ReplyDeletemine is here.
beautiful Q photo! I found your blog on Mrs. Nesbitt's Place and love it. I have been to the Isle of Man, but many years ago...in the 70's. My grandparents were from N. Ireland and then immigrated to Canada. So, I still have family in your neck of the woods so one year they took us to the Isle of Man. I loved it so it is fun to look at your pics!
ReplyDeleteVery dramatic. I love this photo :)
ReplyDeleteGreat silhouette shot. Love it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo of the pier. Very nice silhouettes. :)
ReplyDeleteI want to thank you for the most kind comment on my blog.
Hug`s.
I really like how this picture takes your eye along the pier out into the sea, just like the pier does. Fantastic :)
ReplyDeleteGreat moody picture. I love the composition - the angles and patterns are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a shame that piers are just left to go into decline, I hope it will be renovated.
ReplyDeleteSuperb shot. Sad when piers deteriorate - so much part of life in the past. I spent part of my childhood in Brighton and now at least one of those piers is destroyed.
