QUEENS PIER RAMSEY


Queens Pier, above, is an impressive sight when you are driving into Ramsey along the coast or mountain road.


In subsequent years the Pier has fallen into a state of decline, no longer used as landing port, closed to visitors and declared unsafe. The future of Ramsey Queens Pier remains uncertain, although when I passed today at least work to make it make it safe from collapsing in to the sea was being undertaken. Rumours, suggestions and options are being considered as to renovate or demolish. I hope it's the former. The approach to Ramsey just wouldn't be the same without it.

    It looks like it goes on forever, but then I read that it almost does go on forever. It would be a shame for it not be fixed up. Just the history alone should make it worth keeping.

    I still miss Laxey, but Ramsey photos will do fine.Is the "Friends of Queens Pier" still going strong? It's a spectauclar photo.

    Babooshka, this is one of many classic bridge I've seen so far in this portal that I like. I really like the background and the silhouette of the bridge itself, excellent shot.

    Lovely picture of a beautiful landmark, it would be a shame to lose it, Can it not be turned into a nice place for a walk with small stall or cafe or something?

    Is it kind of a bridge right? It must be so historical.

    Aw, save it! It's wonderful, even if it is really old! Come on, it practically looks like a work of art!
